The Hart, Fishing Fly by Lee Schechter
*Original* Hand Tied Fly, Handmade Adirondack Frame of White Birch and Cedar with detailed pattern, SOLD
"The Hart" fly is from the category of Lake Flies from the Marbury book of 1892. Notably the pattern originated in Connecticut. To quote the description from the book: “The Hart is a combination of colors almost unknown among artificial flies, but one that is very beautiful in this fly, which was sent to us by Mr. George Hart, of Waterbury, Conn., after whom it was named. In his letter inclosing this fly he wrote us that had proved one of their best flies in their late expedition to the Maine woods, where he and a party of friends have recorded some phenomenal catches.”
These are historically accurate flies referencing Mary Orvis Marbury's legendary book, Favorite Flies and Their Histories published in 1892. Lee also creates 'Freestyle' flies using historical elements as a starting point to create original and unique flies in his own style.
